Turnover standards for tropical vacation rentals
A repeatable turnover prepares the whole stay: clean rooms, working equipment, a checked inventory, and a clear record of anything that needs attention.
Start with the departure inspection
Check the property before resetting it. Record damage, missing items, left belongings, leaks, unusual odors, and equipment problems. Share issues through the agreed operating channel so the team can decide what needs attention before the next arrival.
Use a room-by-room checklist
Define the tasks for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and outdoor spaces. Include high-touch surfaces, sand-prone areas, and visible moisture. Follow product labels and equipment instructions. Assign specialist work to appropriately qualified providers.
Check linens, supplies, and readiness
Count and inspect replacement linens, check the agreed guest supplies, and test essential equipment after cleaning. Confirm the next reservation’s setup and access details without exposing private guest information. Report shortages with enough time for replenishment.
Close with evidence and handoff
Capture agreed photos of the prepared rooms and record who completed and checked the work. Keep private belongings and personal guest information out of shared photos. An unresolved issue should remain visible with a responsible person and a next action, rather than disappearing when cleaning is marked complete.
